To activate all known volume groups in the linux system

Vgchange –a –y

  1. this is the time when we were in bernas, which we re attach the lun in netapp to a new server.able to mount the disk that we found to the server
    steps taken :
    # vgscan ( scans the volume group )
    # pvscan
    we found that the disk found is LVM2 and not active, so we run the command to activate the disk as above which is
    # vgchange -a -y /dev/Vg00/lvol1
    then mount the disk
    # mount /dev/Vg00/lvol1 /mnt/san

    but an error comes out recommended to use m2fsck
    we ognore the error msg,
    then we reboot the server and mount again, then it able to see the files inside /mnt/san

    hoorayy!! we able to go back at 4am hehehe thanks to abie and man and GITS group for helping.
